Weather : Warm/Hot and windy. Time of day : 12:35 pm.
Again, all I planned was to get 12 k’s out of the way, how I was going to do that I hadn’t yet decided.
200 sit-ups first and then stretch and run.
Well I headed out, easy pace to start with and then after 300 or 400 metres I upped the ante somewhat, running at a pace of around 4:30 – 4:35 /km until I hit the Werribee River about 5.5 km's later. At this point I slowed in order to take on some gel and flush it down with water. I decided to ease back on the pace

somewhat, run around 5:00 – 5:10 /km which was not a problem. I was going to run at this pace all the way home.
I couldn’t help myself, I changed my mind yet again approaching the 10 km point, I decided to run another fast kilometre. Between the 10 and 11 km point I paced out at 4:04 /km and then eased back to 5:00 /km all the way home.

Overall I was happy with this session and as usual the type of run was not pre-planned, it just happened and I felt good. As I was feeling so good I did another 200 sit-ups.

Milestone achieved
Todays session puts my YTD figure at 1947 km just nudging ahead of my previous max yearly total from 2001 at 1945 km. My next little milestone is the 2000 km mark; I’m expecting to reach that sometime next week.
