For something different I ran a shorter run today, 8 km around my local streets. For all the longish type runs I've been doing lately, today I felt very strong and decided to up the pace a bit. At the 3 km marker I decided there and then to increase the pace for a kilometre, farlek style. This km I paced out at 3:42 and then eased off. I thought I'd be finishing the run at 5:00 min pace but for some reason I was quite comfortable at 4:45 or thereabouts.
It was a warmish day but for some reason that was not a factor for me today.

Great runs over the last two days Steve - the photos from the circle run look like it was either really hot or the pace was on with Stu.
I think these shorter faster runs let you gauge your progress so much better than on the longer runs - a 3.42!!! that is flying!
