Rest day yesterday and wanted to get a medium long run in tonight; which I did. Followed the same course I ran on Monday night but extending the Yarra River part all the way to Grange Road Bridge and returned on the opposite side of the Yarra.

Not a bad run and kept up a reasonably fast pace at 4:47 /km. Wasn’t really intending to run that fast, it was just going to be a ‘just run the distance run’ if you know what I mean. Well anyway I just got into a rhythm and felt very comfortable at this pace.

I noticed during the last 2 or 3 k’s my quads were tightening but not to the extent of slowing me down.

Mr. Garmin let me down a little today. I noticed when tracking up Anderson Street Hill about 2 km to go the unit wasn’t receiving any heart rate info. I was really peeved with this as I was really pushing it. I couldn’t help myself, as I turned into Anderson Street there was a group of young runners running up the hill. I said to myself, “self; beat them”. That group split into two and as I passed the front markers I just had to keep going, which I did.

I also lost the GPS signal in a few areas along the run. This particular area, The Tan, is not GPS friendly. Thank god for SportTracks, this enables me to edit the GPS track afterwards. If only I could upload that data to Motionbased.
